Using Protein Ready Login Widgets
This is a user guide on how to use ready-made login widgets for protein sites. The login page of a site in Protein can be created in three different ways:
- Fixed login.cfm: If no settings are made, the login page comes from Protein's fixed login.cfm file, depending on the type of portal created.
- Login.cfm in the theme folder: If a login.cfm file is added to the folder of the selected theme on the site, the login page comes from this file.
- Login page with Site Page Designer: In Site Page Designer, a page marked as a login page is designed and login widgets are placed on the page. The widgets described in this wiki are used exactly in this method.
In the third method, the home page is not coded separately for each site; The relevant widget is selected and placed on the login page. There are four different widgets: Individual Member Login, Corporate Login, Disposable Multi Login and Career Login. They all work with email and a 4-digit PIN and use the same cf_wrkauth infrastructure. In this way, adding an entry to a Protein site can be done through a single interface without the need to write code.
1. Choosing the Right Widget
First of all, it is determined which user type the site will serve and the appropriate widget is selected.
Widget | For whom it is suitable | sites |
|---|---|---|
Individual Member Login | Individual customers (consumers) | E-commerce and membership sites |
Corporate Login | Corporate member employees (partner) | Dealer and supplier portals |
Disposable Multi Login | Individual and corporate members together | Collection, service and B2B portals |
Career Login | Candidates applying for jobs | Resume and application sites |
2. Designing the Login Page
- A new page is created in the Site Page Designer or an existing page is opened.
- In the page designer, go to the Definitions tab and check the Login Design checkbox. This sign allows the page to be used as a login page.
- The relevant login widget is selected from the widget list and placed in the desired area on the page.
- The page is saved. No additional code is required.
3. Connecting the Login Page to the Site
- Come to the detail page of the site and go to the Access tab.
- In the Login Design select box on this tab, all pages marked Login Design in the Definitions tab are listed.
- The designed page is selected from the list and is recorded. From now on, the site uses this design as the login page.
4. Login Flow
After the login page is connected to the site, the login works as follows on the visitor side:
- The visitor writes his e-mail address,
- A 4-digit PIN is sent to his e-mail,
- When the PIN is entered, the user logs in and the user goes to the /welcome page. is directed.
5. Account Selection with Disposable Multi Login
In the Disposable Multi Login widget, the flow is the same as the others, the only difference is the account selection:
- If the user has only one account (individual or corporate), the login is done directly after the PIN.
- If the user has both individual and corporate accounts, with which account to log in after the PIN selects it and is then directed to the /welcome page.
6. Verification of the Result
When the process is completed:
- It is checked that the designed login page and box are displayed by entering the login page of the site from the browser.
- A PIN is requested with a registered e-mail address and it is checked that the e-mail has arrived.
- The PIN is logged in and it is directed to the /welcome page. is displayed.
- If Multi Login is used, the account selection screen is also checked with a user who has both an individual and a corporate account.
7. Common Engine and Appearance
All four widgets use the same cf_wrkauth engine. A correction made in this infrastructure is reflected in all four widgets, there is no need to update the widgets one by one. For now, widgets come in a plain box; The views will be edited as if you were designing a page with the future Protein "login designer".
