Creating and exporting the material information, information of products purchased outside the program and quantity information of the model drawn in the Revit program.

Revit is BIM (Building Information Modeling) software that allows the user to design with parametric modeling and drawing elements. BIM is a new concept of CAD (Computer Aided Design) that allows intelligent, 3D and parametric object-based design.

Revit Information Data

It obtains the metering and material information from the data in the model. Revit models consist of a combination of geometric (width-length-height, etc.) and information data (material, energy class, manufacturer, etc.). Therefore, every building element to be measured is included in the model.

Why Use Revit Information Data

Cost, time and quality optimization are very important in construction projects. The decisions taken at the beginning of the project are effective in solving problems during the construction phase. Quantity Measurement and Material data must be equivalent to the project construction costs and construction process. Inaccuracy in the metering will cause the preliminary survey and work schedule to be incorrect. Manually prepared measurements take a lot of time and the risk of error is very high. It is useful to use Revit, a BIM software, to obtain realistic and short-term results in project planning and construction.

Stages of Accessing Information Data in Revit

When modeling the structure in Revit, all features must be processed first. For example, if you are creating a wall, its dimensions, names of all layers and material properties should be added. (Figure 1)(Figure 1)

When preparing the quantity list, first of all, the product to be measured should be selected from the viev > schedules > schedules / quantities tab. The desired features of the selected product are marked and a list is created. (Figure 2)

An add-in can be used to export the created quantities and materials as Excel files. SheetLink is a plug-in that can be downloaded and used free of charge on the Autodesk App Store and enables the export of Revit data in Excel file format.

Using the SheetLink plug-in, the desired information of all modeled objects can be exported to Excel. As shown in (Figure 3), by selecting the material category, the desired material properties can be marked, exported and an Excel list can be created. (Figure 4)

If all the measurements are selected, they will all be exported as different pages in the same Excel file. (Figure 6)

Revit family data can be exported with the sheetlin plug-in and an excel file can be created.

As a result, instead of using different programs for models, technical drawings, quantities and material information, only Revit can be used. Revit automates many data, allowing work to be carried out faster, more systematically and less costly.
