Cash Account

Cash Account; It is the place where cash collection and payment transactions are made and cash, deferred payment instruments such as checks and promissory notes are stored. They have to be separated according to Cash Accounts currencies. A different Cash Account must be opened for each currency used. Cash Accounts can be opened according to organizational units such as head office, factory, branch office, department. Each Cash Account has a code in the accounting chart of accounts.


Example Case: Acme Company has 1 administration office and 1 outlet and 1 warehouse. The Management Office of this company handles Dollar and Euro transactions. Branch Offices work with Dollar. As it is known, cash accounts start with the code 100 in the uniform chart of accounts. The cash account and accounting account links of this company may be as follows.

If Acme company collects and pays with checks and promissory notes, the accounting account codes related to Checks and Notes must also be entered in the Cashier definitions. For example, all the accounting account codes of the Central USD Cash Account can be defined as follows.

Tip

It is used to follow up on the documents received by the collection team or sales personnel that have not yet been delivered to the cashier.


Tip

If you do not use checks and notes, it is not mandatory to define the relevant accounting account codes.

Before starting to make cash transactions in W3, the following definitions must be made correctly.

  • Transaction Currency and Exchange Rates
  • Cashier Fiscal New Year Opening or Prior Fiscal Year Transfer Transaction

Warning

Since the transaction place of checks and notes is cash accounts, Cash Account definitions are also the definition of the check-promissory note module. When defining Cash Account, you should also take checks and notes into account.
