Product Feature Definitions and Variation Management

With variation management, each variation of the product is tracked over different stock codes. In addition, by creating specs over variations, the management of areas such as spec-based stock and production tracking is provided. In addition, many functions such as taking orders according to product features and variations in sales orders proceed through these definitions.

Product feature definitions are used to define different features and variations (color, size, scent, etc.) related to products.

System General Product Feature Descriptions

These definitions are made on the Product Properties page.

ROUTE: ERP > Sales-Distribution > Product and Stocks > Product Features

  1. Active: If you want the feature to be used actively, the "Active" box is checked. If this box is not checked, the registered feature cannot be displayed in transactions (purchase/sale) with the product.
  2. Check the basket: When this box is checked, products of different variants of the product with the "Check the basket" feature sold on the partner portal cannot be added to the same shopping cart. E.g; Considering that German and English variations of the same product are offered for sale separately; Although the features of these products are the same, they cannot be added to the same shopping cart because their variations are different.
  3. Display on Web: When this box is checked, the product is displayed on websites designed by Workcube.
  4. Feature: The general name of the feature to be added is written. For example: Fabric Color, Product Size, Processor Type, etc.
  5. Special Code: A special code for the feature to be added is defined in this field.
  6. Explanation: It can be written in which products the feature will be used more. Thus, the use of features and variations defined for a specific product for other products is prevented.
  7. Size/Color: If the defined feature is related to size or color, these boxes are selected.
  8. Related Companies: Select from the "Related Companies" field to indicate which companies the defined features are associated with. Thus, companies using the same feature and variation do not need to define it again and again.

NOTE: If Size and Color boxes are desired to be displayed on the product properties new registration page, go to the XML settings of the page, and "Show Size-Color Fields?" option should be "Yes"

After the relevant definitions are made on the feature addition page, the Save button is pressed. In this way, variations can be added to the defined feature. To add a variation to a feature, go to the Product Features list page and click the edit icon.

Variation definitions can be made on the popup page that opens after clicking the edit icon. The required color variations for the feature defined as Fabric Color were created as in the example.

Defining Variations of a Product and Creating Inventory Codes

After defining the general product features and variations on the system, the relevant product detail for which the variation will be tracked is entered and the Product Features button is clicked.

ROUTE: ERP > Sales-Distribution > Products > Product Detail > Product Features

On the Product Features page that opens, the features are added by clicking the "+" icon, then the registration is completed with the update process.

Variation can be defined for previously defined inventory by clicking the "+" icon in the Inventories field in the product detail.

For example, Size/Number variation can be selected for this product.

Inventory codes of the variations of a product can be defined individually as well as collectively. To add batch inventory information, the search icon in the inventories area of the product detail page is clicked.

By going to the XML of the page that opens, "Select Product Feature / Variations?" must be set to Yes.

On this screen, the features (color, size, etc.) to which you want to add inventory information are selected and the “update” button is clicked. Select the existing products in the product chart and click the "Save" button. Thus, the product types that will be defined in the system are saved.

NOTE: After registration, the features of the selected product become inactive, the checkbox for this feature cannot be removed.

Tracking and Viewing Inventories Based on Product and Variations

Existing inventories in Workcube are listed and displayed on the ERP > Sales-Distribution > Product and Stocks > Inventories screen. This screen comes up with some standard search and filtering fields by default.

NOTE: To do this, go to the XML settings while on the Inventory listing page. “Detailed Search” is set to Yes.

In this way, detailed filtering can be done on the Inventories page according to product features and variations.

With this setting, the following filtering options are used in the filtering field.

For example: It is possible to filter and follow inventories such as Warehouse, Responsible, Supplier, Lot number, Inventory Code in this list on the basis of product features and variations.
