Project Planning and Preparation

Enterprise business software placement projects are multidimensional projects in nature. Mostly, change management is done simultaneously with implementation. Businesses aim to improve the way they do business and their processes in these projects. With this change, many challenges such as new procedures and organizational renewal occur. On the other hand, implementation triggers technical improvement in IT infrastructure. As life goes on, competition conditions change, laws change, technologies change and businesses try to cope with these changes. Depending on the business practices of the enterprise, the software also gets its share of change. In other words, implementation and software improvements never end. This is natural today. In the digital economy, digital activities are an area that should continue uninterrupted, just like logistics, sales, marketing, and production.

The Workcube implementation process covers all processes from the first contact of the customer with Workcube to the life-long usage cycle.

In reality, process improvement and, accordingly, digital activities never end. Each digital leap should be described as a project. Projects whose beginning and end are not well defined, open-ended, and where the end is not determined to create great problems. This is a paradox. Your project should have a definite end and should continue continuously. The business should aim for continuous perfection and brand new development projects should be put forward depending on these goals.

Workcube aims to increase the competitive power of the business by making digital transformation "Holistic". The goal is one and eternal, “Raising competitive power”. However, you cannot achieve this goal with a single project. In order to reach the final and eternal goal, you must divide the goal into stages and determine intermediate stops. You should design projects for each destination and intermediate stop and evaluate the project at intermediate stops.

Determine the Paradigm of the Project.
In its simplest terms, paradigm: it reveals what we perceive, how we perceive, what we adopt or not, and our point of view on events and issues. In a way, it is the soul of the project. You have to build a paradigm to give soul to your project.

The project, whose target and performance criteria are determined, is easily managed.
Project objectives should be clear and understandable. What is the destination at the end of the project? You must state it clearly. In order to understand whether the goals are being met, you must set the performance criteria. How will your success be measured at the end of the project? If you define the indicators from the beginning, you can easily measure the project results.

Suggestion
Before you start planning the project, you should study the “strategic framework” work.

Compare Assessment , QPIC-RS and Time-Value Matrix

Three documents should be checked while preparing the project plan. Changes may affect the scope and duration of the project. In this case, the project budget may change. If you think that such a situation has occurred, you should inform the project sponsor and other managers.

During the Workcube sales process, businesses are subject to the preliminary examination. The W3 Assessment methodology is applied in the preliminary examination. W3 Assessment is in the form of questions and answers. As an expert Workcube consultant can answer, businesses can also determine their needs by answering these questions. The Assessment document reveals how Workcube will be applied to the enterprise and how the business manners of the enterprise will be implemented.

The first version of the QPIC-RS is made under the “Strategic Framework”. When the project starts, the QPIC-RS matrix needs to be checked and updated if necessary. On the other hand, “Time-Value Matrix” is created within the scope of the Digital Transformation Roadmap. Priorities may change during the project planning phase. Project milestones and sequencing can be rearranged.

Warning
Before you start planning the project, review the "W3 Assessment" study that was made during the sales phase. If it hasn't been done, be sure to do it. This study helps you to set the scope.

Suggestion
Often the planning phase is neglected. Remember that poorly planned projects have a low success rate. Do not hesitate to spend the preparations and time required for the project plan. This will make you more successful and reach project goals more easily.

Project Scope
The scope of the Workcube license and the scope of the implementation project are not always the same. The project scope is the answer to the question of which sections, modules, and functions of Workcube will be implemented. Projects cannot be terminated without determining the scope of the project. The matrix below helps you establish the scope of the project.
